According to the United Nations, at least one out of three women globally has been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused during her lifetime. Studies show that up to 10 million children witness some form of domestic violence annually. Violence against women and girls (VAWG) happens everywhere, in war-torn environments and more peaceful venues, and in both public and private spaces. Women and girls have a fundamental right to health and safety. Through our work we are bringing awareness of this problem and creating advocacy efforts on behalf of the rights of women and girls in Last Mile communities.
LM4D’s work with community partners provides education about and access to information on the health, rights-to-health and safety for women and girls in oppressed environments and Last Mile communities. Our work rests on the pillars of education, prevention and "in time" intervention. We offer solutions for women and girls in distressed Last Mile communities that integrates real-time communication and documentation on rights to health, safety from abuse, health and health education and e-training. These solutions increase their access to information on health and safety.

VPack4Development

V4D is the bundling of our internal secure online portal/app designed for communication, documentation, and dissemination of gender-responsive education, and it is deployed in a solar powered backpack with a tablet. Through use of V4D we create awareness, training and outreach to at-risk women and girls in the Last Mile communities. Our trained teams use these methods to identify girls at risk for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), use our platform to record their findings and put intervention in place to rescue the girls. The easily accessible training materials and data/information on the online portal empowers our teams to have a greater impact on the delivery of their work.
